MOBHOPE (Mobile Hepatitis Outreach and Prevention Effort) is a European initiative funded by the EU4Health Programme that aims to strengthen, standardise and expand mobile health services for people at increased risk of HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), viral hepatitis and liver disease.

Coordinated from Spain with partners in Portugal and Croatia, MOBHOPE brings together clinical teams, public health professionals, mobile outreach units and community organisations to deliver accessible, person-centred, stigma-free healthcare to vulnerable populations who often face barriers to conventional health systems.

Through mobile clinics, point-of-care diagnostics, community engagement, operational research and the creation of a shared European service package, MOBHOPE seeks to:

  • improve early diagnosis and access to care,
  • reduce inequalities in health outcomes,
  • understand the social determinants that limit engagement with healthcare,
  • and support a coordinated European response to viral hepatitis and liver health.

The project runs from 2025 to 2028 and aims to generate evidence, tools and best practices that can be scaled and replicated across Europe.
