European coordination and three mobile units
MOBHOPE works through three mobile units: UMC, managed by Asociación Madrid Positivo in Spain; Ares do Pinhal (ADP) in Portugal; and Hepatos in Croatia. The European project is coordinated by the Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Gregorio Marañón (FIBHGM).

The Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Gregorio Marañón (FIBHGM) coordinates the European MOBHOPE project. This project-wide role is distinct from the operation of the three mobile units.

Ares do Pinhal , ADP (Portugal)
Principal Investigator: Hugo Faria
A harm-reduction NGO with 35+ years’ experience supporting people who use drugs, migrants and socially excluded communities. ADP operates mobile and community services (rapid testing, tele-/decentralised hepatology consultations, addiction and mental-health support) and coordinates screening, referral and follow-up within Portuguese sites.
Unidad Móvil de Cribado (UMC) · Madrid Positivo (Spain)
Principal Investigator: Dr. Jorge Valencia
The Unidad Móvil de Cribado (UMC) is managed by Asociación Madrid Positivo. Madrid’s pioneering mobile screening unit delivers low-threshold, street-level testing and linkage to care for viral hepatitis, HIV and STIs among homeless people, PWUD/PWID and other underserved groups, and leads the project’s clinical research, protocol design and data management.
Croatian Society for Liver Diseases “Hepatos” (Croatia)
Principal Investigator: Tatjana Reić
A patient-focused organisation running the WHO-recognised Mobile InfoHep Centre (MIHC). Hepatos offers on-site HBV/HCV/HIV testing, FibroScan® liver assessment and immediate linkage to specialist care in community and prison settings, and leads national outreach, education and policy engagement.
Together, the consortium represents a blend of clinical expertise, public health leadership and frontline community engagement.
